The Mount Austin Murder
One of the most well-known murder cases in Wagga's history is that concerning the death of Chris Bolger in 1935.
Chris, who managed his father's Mount Austin property, was just 25 years old when he was shot by 16 year old Roy Souter and his body hidden in an underground water tank at the homestead.
The story is a facinating one, involving a much-admired, athletic, well-educated young man, a jealous employee of a much lower social standing, a yellow Chevrolet Roadster and a girl called Daphne Pearl Nolan.
